小弟想整番對 Shell Cordovan 鞋...

Any c-hing can share your experience on Shell Cordovan? Any comment on Alden's? I am currently looking at Alden and Carmina

Alden 係美式Last, 圓潤d, 偏向causal, 比較適合腳闊既亞洲人
Carmina 就傳統歐洲Last, 窄身d, 偏向formal, 未必個個都著得舒服
兩間都係用Horween 既Shell Cordovan, 但Alden 既shell 比較其他shoemakers, 色澤上係有分別, Alden 會靚少少

第一對shell cordovan 我建議Alden Barrie Last LWB, 舒服易襯, 襯西褲, chino, 牛仔褲都得

I saw from the Internet that people use deer bone to polish shell cordovan. Is it easy to get in HK?

Do shell cordovan shoes usually end up with serious creases after several days of wearing? I saw some pics from the web where the shoes with serious creases have become quite ugly....(perhaps they didn't use any shoe tree).....I am not sure if I should call it a "characterstic" of shell cordovan.

Hi. My own experience is that shell cordovan does crease fairly easily, though I don't consider the effect ugly. With my color 8 Alden's, the "crease" area just looks lighter than the rest of the leather, without being overly wrinkly. The look is ok for me.

Anyway, in terms of how much shoes crease, I would have thought how the shoe shape conforms to the foot should also matter. If there's too much space, then creases will be a fact of life, independent of the make of leather or the use of shoe trees (though of course that should help.)

its me~
i like them, very versatile boots, easily dress up for a day at the office or dress down with jeans or chino for happy friday.Cognac cordovan is really nice, here is my Inca last double monk from Carmina, very comfortable last.

to be honest,
cordovan is really a luxury leather,
but it is not really the "best" option for every kind of shoes.
like i have a few pairs of Alden's indy shoes,
and i do think CXL is better than cordovan on Indy boots,
because of Indy boots are meant to be broken in like how indiana jones worn them.
cordovan is just too classy for indy boots.

無計，cordovan 天生麗質又脆弱。

但係ccordovan還原能力都幾好，
因為佢比較多油份，
平時都係用擦狂擦就得。
著十零次之後用少少wax paste就得！

我平時都係落雨天返到屋企就抹左表面啲水，
之後等佢自然乾，
如果仲有水跡我會用微濕既毛巾碎下佢，
再等佢乾，
之後再上少少paste wax。

cordovan 因係植鞣皮!!! 逢植鞣皮濕到水都有印!!! 我都廢鬼事理!! 粗用先有味道
除非你在皮面打磨一層厚WAX!!! 仲要長期去打WAX!! 但咁就冇左隻皮O既味道了
