Any Jazz fans here ?

Besides listening to classical music, I am also a fan of Jazz, in particular those played by old players some time ago, like Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Gerry Mulligan and Gene Ammons. Other than western performers, some Japanese Jazz players are also very good. Indeed, I am listening to "Blonde on the Rocks" LP featuring Shoji Yokouchi Quartet while I am typing. The album was recorded on 16 March 1976 and released by Three Blind Mice - a very relaxing composition !

Just wondering if any C-Hing here loves Jazz as well

It's always nice to know there are Jazz  fans around in this forum !

Btw, trumpet is too much for me. That's why I prefer listening to tenor sax which, to me, is very moody and relaxing.

I suggest you can start with tenor sax or swing. Both are very easy to ears and relaxing / lively

If you are not too familiar with old Jazz and would like to start listening to it, you can probably get an album with a mix of performers.

I have a CD produced by Nectar named "Mellow & Warm". It contains performers like Stan Getz, Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon, Chet Baker, Duke Ellington, Ben Webster, Dave Brubeck. For vocals, it has Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, etc. A very good composition to trigger your avenue to the old Jazz world !

for old jazz and Ben Webster, one of my favourite disc is "Coleman Hawkins encounters Ben Webster". Sound quality is excellent for such as an old disc. Best perfomance of both jazz gaints can be found in this one.

Long time Jazz listener. All kinds, most prefer jazz vocal.
Just a quick comment on listening gear for jazz.
Tube + horn + jazz.... match in heaven....
