Mr. Lars Netopil has studied the history of Leica since his early youth. After law school, he turned to Leica professionally, becoming vice president of Leica Historica e.V. in Germany in 1993.
Internationally, Lars is considered one of the few experts absolutely competent about the history of Leica. He acts as a consultant to international Leica Museums and auction houses since 1999, also to Leica Camera Company for their departments Historical Archive and Factory Museum. At LeitzPark in Wetzlar, Germany he has curated the temporary exhibition "60 years of Leica M". In 2010 he published the standard work "Prototype Leica - items from the Factory Museum". Mr. Lars Netopil runs an international business trading with Leica collectibles and owns the Leica Store in the old town of Wetzlar.
Mr. Lars Netopil is a good friend of Hong Kong and its Leica-community. During the past few years he has quite developed a group of friends and clients in Hong Kong, holding seminars to them about collectible Leica cameras. Four years after the successful "Prototype Leica", time has now come for him to present a volume two of his books about Leica collectibles. It is exciting to the Hong Kong Leica community that Lars has chosen Hong Kong as the place for the exclusive launch of his new book "Rare Leica" on November 07th 2014.

Lars Netopil先生早於少年時代已經開始研究徠卡歷史。完成法律學位後，他改為專業研究徠卡，並於1993年成為德國徠卡歷史研究學會(Leica Historica e.V.) 副會長。
獲世界公認為徠卡歷史專家的人寥寥可數，而Lars Netopil先生正是其中一位。自1999年起，他擔任國際徠卡博物館、國際拍賣行和徠卡相機公司轄下的歷史檔案及工廠博物館的顧問，直到現在。他曾統籌在德國韋茨拉爾徠茲公園 (LeitzPark in Wetzlar, Germany) 舉行的「徠卡M六十週年」臨時展覽。2010年，他出版了一本徠卡相機著作 “Prototype Leica - items from the Factory Museum"他在韋茨拉爾舊城區有自己的徠卡相機店舖，更經營徠卡珍品的國際買賣業務。
Lars Netopil先生與香港和香港徠卡愛好者的關係良好密切。在過去幾年，他曾在香港舉辦過關於收藏級徠卡相機的講座，建立了香港的朋友圈和客戶網。繼四年前大獲好評的 "Prototype Leica" 後，Lars Netopil先生即將推出他個人第二本有關徠卡珍品的書籍，更選擇於十一月七日在香港舉行新書 "Rare Leica" 的發佈會，這是一個令香港徠卡界非常興奮的消息。
