Schmidt 做得好差咩?Leica 喺香港會有 office 和維修中心嗎?

For Leica, from a greater China perspective, HK is just a city, except tax and foreign exchange advantages.

I guess by end of 2017 the latest, Leica would have completely set up a service unit only one class less than Germany's.
By then, all our Leica gears can be repaired and maintained in SH.

Schmidt has never been really helpful as far as I can remember (for the past 30 yrs at least). I won't miss them.
I don't have a high expectation for Leica to do their own servicing either. I am not likely to come back to Leica digital bodies easily/soon with the damage they've done to my feelings and emotions. For lenses, I can do most services elsewhere.

Schmidt pushed too many items into the gray market - this new (Leica own) company will not.

It seems to be a trend among most luxury retail brands. They are trying to have a tighter control of a uniform pricing across the world. The first step is to control or skip the distributor.
