I believe the P9 is not a bad smartphone at all. My previous Nokia phone is better than my current Sony on taking AF picture. They are 3 years technology apart and my Sony should have done better in performance if this is only defined by brand. On the other hand, my wife had the copy of Samsung Chinese phone which was only cost 2k from tst shop. It was working fine and when the phone died within a year, the shop has allowed her to exchange another one for free!
So I think we are all based on what the expectation from a phone than what the phone can actually "can do" for you.

I also hope P9 performs as good as its price suggests.

I guess the Plus version will be selling close to 6 grams Hong Kong.

Not cheap. Quality pictures alone doesn't make a phone good enough against competition.

Haha, shame!

The maunufacturer then had to apologize to the public for misleading and deleted this shot from their site.

One can see how unprofessional Huawei's brand team/communication partner is to handle the P9 campaign. Any person with the slightest digital photography knowledge would know a picture contains EXIF.

我估, 华为的Marcom没有嚴格要求它的广告代理或网络打手, 千万不可用非P9拍的图。
这在中国广告主来說是常见的,因版权意识薄弱, 傳播自律性往往處於低水平。
甚至這图有可能是由Marcom(甲方)交出來指定要用。

碰啱上图的公司儍下儍下, 唔知有的social media顕示EXIF...咪出醜囉

For years Canon/Nikon did all these stuff. Leica even more, digital Leica made in Portugal dissembled and resembled in Germany to make it legitimate for "made in Germenay", haha for many years la. All actually made in Partugal....

well, based on what I know, all brands did these in the film days. They hired advertising agencies to do the PR materials but none of the ad photo professionals use 135 film those days. You might know as well, but I knew, that was some 30 yrs ago.

Well, it reminds me the days we handled the Kodak account. They did ask us to shoot with Kodak film, both stills and commercials.

The Fujifilm did not ask for this.

While we handled Canon, they gave us pictures to run their ads, or simply did adaptation on artworks from Japan.
